PMA REGISTRATION

Establishing a PMA is an important step in establishing your own business in Bali/Indonesia and obtaining a KITAS (Temporary Residence Permit).

What is a PMA?

A PMA (Penanaman Modal Asing) is a legal entity designed to allow foreigners to conduct business activities in Indonesia, in accordance with Indonesian law. It is similar to an LLC (Limited Liability Company) in the US.

This structure allows you to operate a business in Bali/Indonesia and obtain a KITAS (Temporary Residence Permit). In a PMA, foreign investors can be registered as shareholders, either as a legal entity or as an individual.

REQUIRED REQUIREMENTS:

Choosing a Company Name: The company name can be in any language and must be at least 3 words and 3 letters. Terms such as "Company," "Co," "Community," "LTD," "Ent," and "Enterprise" cannot be used in the PT PMA name.

KBLI / Business Sectors: You can register up to 5 different business sectors with PT PMA.

Company Positions: A PT PMA must consist of at least 2 people — a Director and a Commissioner. The minimum shareholding ratio is 2%.

Passport Information: A passport photo or scan is required for all shareholders. When applying for KITAS, the passport must be valid for at least 12 months. A shareholding of 2% is not eligible for KITAS.
